SUCCESS STORY OF GIRL CHILD
The Situation
The girl, Asha [ name changed] ,has come from poor socio-economic back ground.Her father was cobbler. Both parents being HIV were not in a position to manage day today living. After death of father, her mother started looking for orphanage. She along with non-reactive siblings were in badly need of shelter home. There was no proper food available at home. The ART collection and related drug adherence was neglected in her case.
The Hero or the Focus of the Story
The DESIRE Society took challenge of serving this girl. Her health condition was not good. The malnutrition condition was observed and special diet was introduced for her. Beside food ,we had added up the supplementary nutrition kit consumption value in daily intake.
The nutrition / health care balance was targeted intervention in her case. ART usage on daily basis was introduced. She has adaptive qualities to take up drug adherence seriously.
The Change or the Uniqueness in the Story
The discipline maintained in routine life is learned lessons from us. She gained weight and height properly after admission in care home. The private schooling was adapted in her case along with other inmates of care home. She stood 1st in school in 10th standard.She has proved ,if given a chance can show educational results beyond expectations.
At present , she has joined CMR engineering college in city. The college management says that it is a proud moment for us. The special [ HIV ] girl will be treated without HIV stigma associated like any other normal child in college.
The Conclusion (The result of the above narration. How the combination of the central character’s situation, background and the change or uniqueness in the story has led to the story being a success)
Her story is unique. It is irrespective of health status that she has entered professional course. She sets aside a model for other inmates to follow her footsteps.

She is determined to stand at her own by studying hard. “ One day, I will take place of my father to run family” is voice of this girl heard loudly. She says proudly that DESIRE Society has given me confidence of running my own life and helping others too.
