Dear friends,
We are excited that spring is finally here and are equally excited to share with you news about some remarkable visitors to our Preschool projects.
Maude Bourassa visited our preschool on April 26th while visiting the camps to organize a workshop on internally displaced people, development aid and NGO intervention. Our preschool project manager, Mr. Sohail Khan presented at this workshop as well. Ms. Bourassa has a background in International Development and currently works as a Councillor for Students at Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, Canada.
The second visitor was none other than a representative from Global Giving! Ms. Neeharika Tummala from Washington, DC visited the Prechools and some camps. According to our staff, she enjoyed her time and noted that of all the NGO’s she had visited, OBAT was the only one which had its own curriculum. The teachers and students were at ease with her as Ms. Tummala could speak the same language. She expressed an interest in providing English Language training to the students and teachers after returning to the US.
Among other updates, a two day training was organized by Mr. Sohail Khan and Ms. Shamim Nighat for the Khulna Preschool teachers. OBAT aims to keep its teachers updated with the latest developments in curriculum and standards of education followed in the country.
We just have another $2,420 to raise for the preschool project on Global Giving. Do help us reach our goal by contributing to it.
Best regards,
The OBAT team.
