Hey friends!
As you get ready to celebrate the holiday season, we would like to introduce you to a bright, young preschooler who is always bringing a lot of cheer into the lives of those around him.
Four year old Mahfuz lives in NRC camp in the city of Rangpur. He has two brothers and one sister. Mahfuz’s father, Mohammad Javed, makes wooden toys for a living. His mother, Rowsan Arju is a day laborer and earns less than a dollar a day. Although Mahfuz’s life is marred by extreme poverty, it has not affected his spirit and enthusiasm for life. He wants to grow up to become a police officer. His teacher, Yasmin Ara at the Rangpur Preschool thinks that Mahfuz is a brilliant student and has all it takes to have a shining future ahead of him. Mahfuz came first in his class in the quarterly exam. If he is able to continue his education with your help, there is nothing stopping him from being first at every junction!
We are doing our utmost to ensure that our teachers are instructing these young minds in the best possible way. For this reason, we frequently organize training for the preschool teachers. In late August, a training was held for Chittagong Preschool teachers. The training was conducted by Ms. Shamim Nighat. This training focused on teaching methods, writing techniques, use of teaching aids and the importance of choosing the right curriculum.
The hope that you provide to these children is immense and the effects of your support are far reaching. This upcoming holiday season, you can give a gift that matters by supporting the education of these children and sharing our project page, http://bit.ly/1Pl7qth with your friends and family.
Sending you warmth and cheer,
Your friends at OBAT.
