We are thrilled to share the inspiring story of transformation at Shushug School in Imaza, Amazonas, where Esther, a dedicated professional from Enseña Perú, is leading an initiative that is changing lives and fostering a love for reading and writing.
In rural areas of Peru, only 1 out of 10 students in 4th and 5th grade can understand what they read. This alarming situation motivated Esther to seek innovative solutions to improve her students' reading comprehension. Thus, the project "Young Authors: Adventures of Paper and Ink" was born. This comprehensive initiative promotes reading and creativity, aiming to develop the skills of young children.
Esther firmly believes in the power of education to empower future generations. Through this project, each student has the opportunity to become an author, creating and writing their own stories and narrating fantastic tales from their brilliant imaginations. The goal is not just to improve academic performance but also to equip students with the necessary tools for full and critical participation in society.
The project's impact has been remarkable. Students who previously struggled to understand what they read are now enthusiastically developing their reading and writing skills. The transformation in their attitudes and abilities is evident: each child shows greater confidence in their capabilities and a deep interest in reading and writing.
The project is building a more promising future for these students, where reading and writing are not only academic tools but also means of personal expression and empowerment. Enseña Perú is committed to creating more inspiring stories, working tirelessly to ensure that every child in Peru has the opportunity to read, understand, and dream.
Thank you for supporting our mission to nurture young minds and contribute to the creation of a brighter, more literate future.
