In the remote community of Tuntugkus Wawaim, Milagros, a dedicated teacher in Enseña Perú's Leadership Program, works tirelessly with 98 high school students at I.E. Chujai Anag Ukuncham. In a place where education often takes a backseat, Milagros faces the immense challenge of transforming the lives of her students and empowering them with the skills to shape their own futures.
Now in her second year as an Enseña Perú Professional, Milagros launched "TSEJE Handicrafts," a project that inspires students to create traditional baskets using tamshi, a vine native to their region. This initiative not only helps students develop manual skills, but also fosters creativity, collaboration, and a deep sense of pride in their cultural heritage. Through teamwork, they are discovering their potential to make meaningful contributions to their community.
Milagros proudly shares that the project belongs to the students and the entire community. Each basket they craft symbolizes far more than just a beautiful product—it's a beacon of hope, a tangible representation of the confidence and potential taking root within each young person. The seeds of change have been sown in Tuntugkus Wawaim, and they are poised to blossom into a thriving forest of opportunities.
We are deeply grateful for your continued support in our mission to empower future generations and create a brighter, more promising future for the students of Amazonas.
