Thank you for your continued support to our project ‘Send a Child in India to School for a Year’.

With your support we are about to begin a new year and are excited about the hopes and challenges it will bring. And at this yearend, we would like to share half yearly progress report of this project. We have attached the progress report for you to know how exactly YOUR support is creating real change. Below is the snapshot of the progress report:

Currently 177 Rural Schools or Shiksha Kendras (SKs) are reaching out to 6,003 children.
In the last six months 1,946 (32%) children were newly enrolled and of these 48% are girls.
In a recent in-house survey, we found that 53% children are out of school. Of these 36% children have never been to a school.
In May 2012, a total of 4,696 children appeared for the annual evaluation. 1,080 (23%) children reached to Level 3. Once children reach to level 3, it means they have achieved basic competencies in Hindi and Mathematics. They are encouraged to enroll in government school
During the reporting period 1,139 children were enrolled in government schools to continue their further studies. Of these 61% children got admission in class 5 & class 6.

From December 1, 2012 at 12:01 am ET and December 31, 2012 at 11:59 pm ET, Global giving has created a ‘Recurring Donation Campaign’ where all the recurring donations made by you will be matched up to $100 per donor per project.
