Lets celebrate our accomplishments of 2023

By Graciana Gaona | Executive Director

Dear Donors,

Thank you for your unwavering commitment and support throughout this challenging year. It has been a year marked by profound challenges, valuable learnings, and significant growth. Despite an increasingly complex social and economic landscape, we remained steadfast in achieving our goals and even surpassed them. In these trying times, the support for women and children becomes even more critical.

Throughout the year, we have collaborated with over 75 children from ages 2 to 8, making notable impacts through various initiatives:

  1. Children of Caacupé Parish in Villa 21-24, Barracas: We work with 15 children aged 5 to 8 years old. The program runs throughout the year, with meetings three times a week. Given the age range of the children, the focus of this intervention is on introducing reading and text comprehension.
  2. Children of Early Childhood Centers in Barracas: We work with 50 children from the 2 and 3-year-old classrooms of "Pilarcitos" (an Early Childhood center). In this case, interventions are limited to two-month periods, with bi-weekly meetings. The emphasis here is on introducing children to literacy, recognizing letters, introducing them to books, songs, rhymes, and more.
  3. Children in Neighborhood Health Centers in Villa 21-24 (CESAC´s): We work with children aged 0 to 5 years in the waiting rooms of a local CESAC. In this scenario, interventions occur monthly, with the participant group size varying, typically consisting of 4 or 5 participants at a time. The approach here is to work individually with each child and their accompanying adult. The focus is on introducing them to books, songs, rhymes, and other similar activities.

Once again, your continued support remains instrumental in driving these initiatives forward, and we are profoundly grateful for your partnership.

Warm regards,
