Dear Donors and Well Wishers,
Greetings from BPA!!
We are very grateful to you for your generous support and encouragement to provide quality education to children with disabilities and children who are from poor financial conditions. With your continued support, 384 students who are from underserved sections receive a very good quality education in an inclusive learning environment. The students' functional literacy has been improved especially among those children with disabilities whose reading, writing, and numeracy skills were badly affected during the COVID-19 pandemic. The school staff has taken special measures and interventions for these students. The parents are so happy to see the progress of their children.
We are glad to inform you that now the computer classes have been started for the children with disabilities. These computers are now accessible to the children with disabilities. The other children without disabilities are surprised to see how children with blindness operate the computers.
We wish to share the story of young girl Nistha. She is from a very poor family and has congenital blindness. Her parents were so stressed and depressed having a girl child with blindness. They have lost all their hope and decided to abandon her. Her grandparents took the responsibility to look after her. Her parent's and grandparents' financial conditions are very poor. Her grandparents looked after her very well. They spent a good amount of money on her medical treatment with the hope that she could regain her sight. There was no recovery. Her grandparents wanted her to study in the school. They approached many neighborhood schools, but they refused her admission. They came to know about Savinay Inclusive School. They received a very warm welcome from school teachers and the principal. She was welcomed by the school students with lots of love. She becomes part of the school family from day one. She is so happy now, her aspiration has gone up. We really feel that inclusive school has become a home for her.
We are delighted to inform you our School has been selected by Perkins India for a boot camp project that aims to create an inclusive schooling and learning environment. With technical support from Perkins School for the Blind, USA, and Perkins India the school will become inclusive, and accessible.
We request you to visit our school whenever you happen tobe in India.
Thanking you
