Dear esteemed donors and supporters,
I send you warm greetings from The Odwar Fund.
The past few months have seen a huge challenge with the closure of schools especially for children aged 3-13 years. The rural children have been the most affected by this school coseout because they entirely depend on conventional learning methods of a teacher and children in the classroom. For their counterparrts in urban centers who are prvillaged to have digital mechanisms to fsoter learning, there is online studies going on nromally and yet at the end thsese children wil face the same future including national exams,it is extreemly appaling that those who already live within the bare minimum means will not have any hope of breaking out of this circle since they will remain trapped in poverty and ignornace exerbated by covid 19.
This situation has indded worsened tha already very huge dropout rate among rural girls and the rate of early marriages for the young girls just continue to spiral. The Odwar Fund has had a strong feet in trying to reduce the rate of earlu mariages among school age girls but the covid scenario just makes it worse by the day.
As an organization we continue to thank all our supporters who have been standing with us through the difficult times but this new pandemic has posed a completely new challenge with new narratives that require multifaceted approaches that we can only say will only be made possible through continued support from our donors and supporters and this time with very bold intentional steps.
Even when school finally open we anticipate that the standard operating procedures will stay with us and rural schools that have inadequate facilities will have cahllenges adopting to the SOPs and as a result we wish to request that our supporters and donors consider making new donation plans to support us through this new challenges of adopting to the new challenge and even so helping us continue our support for the reduction of early mariages among school going girls.
I want to sinceeely than GlobalGiving and our donors and wish pledge our commitnment to working for the children who greatly need our support
