progressing Report on Educational Materials support for 700 children –project/ December 31/2025
Introduction
Dire Dawa development Association (DDDA) is a non-profit, membership-based local NGO established in 1993 with a mission to contribute towards the socio-economic development effort of the region through sustainable integrated community based programs primarily focused on Livelihoods, Empowerment, Health, Education, Food Security, Environment Conservation and Natural resources management. It is registered as Ethiopian resident charity with registration number 4027.
Our association is raising funds through online fundraising in partnership with GlobalGiving. The goal of the fundraising program is to provide educational stuffs (bags, notebooks, pen, pencil, stationary, etc.) to more than 700 underprivileged poor students in Dire Dawa rural areas so that they may be able to develop their educational standard. This project will help the marginalized children to get better opportunities to be educated and to contribute in the development of society. The target amount of money is $9963.
Campaign Summary
In this reporting period, we have invited individuals and organizations from all over the world to participate in the fundraising
1. We have campaigned on social media
2. We have sent invitations to various embassies and our partners abroad through letters
3. We have sent messages to influential political leaders via WhatsApp and Telegram.
4. We posted all project links in our website.
Financial Report
During the reporting period, the fundraising program raised $33 from two benefactors. On February 28, 2025, $28.08 was deposited into our account from GlobalGiving. Our finance department opened a separate ledger to accumulate and handle the project budget.
Pre- assessment we made
To have the data of needy students, we are already working with concerned bodies and selected schools. Our association has volunteers in each school, so we get a lot of help in collecting information. In addition, we have worked to evaluate the impact of the educational materials support we have provided through our partners over the years. We believe that this can provide us with lessons for our future educational material support.
In Conclusion
Dear Valued Donors, On behalf of the entire Dire Dawa Development Association team, we sincerely thank you for your generous support! With your financial support 700 poor students will get major help to get education by distributing educational materials and they will also get better opportunities for higher education, the problem school drop-out will end. Being educated 700 marginalized students will set up the development of their village and illiterate parents will also get some help.
