Grandpa Cheng is an elderly man living in Pinglin, New Taipei City. He got divorced many years ago and has been out of touch with his children for a long time. Living in the mountains, he faces several health problems, including high blood pressure, which has gradually reduced his mobility and ability to live. Nearly eighty years old, he is almost blind in his right eye and has blurred vision in his left eye, as well as weakened physical strength and memory deterioration. He often has accidents when cooking his food on his own, which is a cause for great concern.
As Grandpa Cheng's condition had caused concern in the community, he was referred to Eden Social Welfare Foundation's Elderly Care Center. With the help from Eden, Grandpa Cheng can enjoy meal delivery service, and home services provided by the Care Center, including shopping for ingredients and meal preparation, so that he doesn’t need to worry about food and drink. Also, the home service staff would pay regular attention to his physical condition and living needs. Thus, he could feel cared for and warmly cared for.
As he interacts with the resident care workers, Grandpa Cheng gradually let go of his guard and began to participate in the activities of the elderly care center. He comes to the center every morning to participate in exercises and classes, has lunch with his peers, and re-establishes a stable routine. These changes have not only improved his physical condition but also allowed him to socialize and enjoy life again.
Let's join hands and continue to bring warmth to the elderly in remote areas. Because only in the embrace of mutual support, we can jointly create a better society and a future full of hope. Thank you again for your support and love.
