Elderly Widows Raising Orphans Need Food

Elderly widows find it difficult to survive on their own, but when they have orphaned grandchildren to raise, it’s almost impossible to provide properly for them.

This sad situation is seen day after day throughout Kenya.  Your participation by supporting these families is so vital!  One thing for sure…you are making a huge difference in their lives by your generosity.  Thank you!

Recently our staff was approached by a small child sent by her elderly grandmother to see if they could get some food.  There was none in the house and they hadn’t eaten since lunch time the day before.

Thanks to the support we received through your gifts, food was brought to the family and filled their home with enough for a month.

Another 68-year-old widow is raising five grandchildren.  She makes and sells ropes in the market and earns less than $4 a month.  This family depends on neighbors to give them food. If that doesn’t happen they search out wild vegetables and boil them for food.

Now, thanks to your support, they have received a large food package giving this grandmother time to save up and provide for the children.
