Summer Waiting -- Fall Happenings!

Dear Donors,

I thank you for your continued support in helping us reach our next milestone -- to install additional solar at the school! This has been a summer of patient waiting as my own schedule has not allowed a site visit since last April. As well, the Foundation has been waiting on architectural plans to establish a date to break ground on our new multipurpose facility. The first half of those plans have finally arrived, and we are pushing to get the final drawings as soon as possible -- the goal being to break ground this fall.

That said, we continue to have great need for more solar. Evaluation of our "egauges" shows that our two systems continue to produce power at expected rates. But during periods of high usage (school days, when > 450 children + staff are there) we are still only offsetting about 40% of peak demand. So we have plenty of room to add another set of panels even without the expansion plans. That being said, now that we anticipate occupancy of our newly finished on-site meeting house -- different from the new multipurpose building -- our near term demand will continue to rise.

My next site visit is likely to be for a ground-breaking ceremony for the new multipurpose building, hopefully sometime this fall.  During that visit I will plan to visit SESB Belize and obtain the quotes needed to install our next set of panels. In the meantime, I attach just a few photos of what we have already installed -- with your generous help -- at the school.

And to see our real-time SRE production, please feel free to visit these egauges URLs:

Have a wonderful fall and I look forward to my next report. We appreciate each and every one of your ongoing contributions.

Sincerely,

John
