Dear donors, friends, and interested people,
In the past 100 years, the number of wild Asian Elephants inhabiting Sri-Lanka has fallen from more than twenty thousand to a dwindling five thousand. The project has been protecting homes and farmers from elephants who often raid crops especially if they can't find food elsewhere, as well as supplementing incomes for crops lost. With the upcoming El Niño set to significantly damage Sri Lanka's agricultural situation, donations are needed more than ever because less food availabe means hungrier elephants which need more support than ever!
Striking this harmonius balance between the needs of humans and elephants creates a sustainable community where both parties can coexist, allowing the elephants to enjoy their natural habitat. The project has been succesful enough to now expand further into conservation of marine life, butterflies, and elusive carniovores!
Thank you from all the Action Change and Sri Lanka team.
