Eliminating Violence Against Women and Children

In the last quarter and in order to prevent violence against women and children, WRC provided counseling to 45 clients, 7 of them men.

Most of the clients experienced domestic violence. Our social worker assisted them to received different sources which needs their challenges and concerns.

As a result, we referred 7 cases to receive additional support such as legal aid, health and skills.

Our Safer City for Girls project was implemented in 5 High School, 2 Secondary School, and 3 Universities in Siem Reap town.

We provided awareness trainings on gender and masculinity to 335 students (189 girls), through football training 24 session to 90 students (60 girls).

To build the capacity of 101 Youth Ambassadors that were selected from 10 targeted schools to be able to share the knowledge with others, we involved them in a deep training module called Champion of Cambodia. Through education of parenting, we engaged 42 people (24 mothers), and men’s coffee talks with 26 fathers.

As a result, Youth Ambassadors improved their knowledge, confidence, and able to lead the conversation through social media such as Face Book Lives. SheEmpower, provided project orientation to the target 5 schools to 246 students on gender equality and equity, sex, hygiene management, and masculinity. To increase the support to girls’ students, we provided ToT to 23 teachers (20 females) on Basic Counseling. Through Positive Parenting, there were 36 parents (32 mothers) participated the program. Men’s Coffee engaged 9 fathers to be involved in the project and learn about gender equality.
