We are excited to share that together with our local partners at CONFRAS and SHARE El Salvador, the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation has planted over 6,500 fruit trees in El Salvador this year!
Last month, our team traveled to El Salvador to implement the program with farmers cooperatives and low-income families around the San Miguel, Úsultan, and La Paz regions of El Salvador. Not only was it wonderful as always to meet with project participants and put thousands of new trees in the ground, but we were also able to visit previously planted orchards to understand the impact the trees have had over the years. As one farmer said:
"When we moved here the land was barren and hot. The trees planted in previous years have already made an impact by changing the climate in the area."
As we look to the tenth year of our project in 2022, we hope to continue to see this kind of impact and positive change in this very vulnerable region. We appreciate so much all the support from the GlobalGiving community, and if you are able to do so, please consider making a donation today to help us reach our goal of planting 100,000 fruit trees across El Salvador!
Muchísimas gracias,
The FTPF Team
