Dear friends,
We're thrilled to share that we've successfully planted 6,796 fruit trees in El Salvador this July!
These trees, including region-appropriate varieties of avocado, cacao, mango, mamones, cashew, and ojushte, were carefully cultivated at our partner nursery and selected to meet the needs of small farmers and low-income families. They were then distributed across the Zona Central, an area severely impacted by a rapidly changing climate, through cooperative networks and local schools. This work to bring economic, nutritional, and cultural benefits to rural communities via fruit trees has flourished since 2013 thanks in large part to strong collaborations with our in-country partners SHARE El Salvador and CONFRAS - a big thank you to their teams as well for making this project possible!
Over the course of one week, we conducted 19 distributions, six plantings, and several engaging workshops. Here are a few highlights:
A large portion of this year's project was supported by our friends at Avocado Green, whose contribution to this and previous years is helping us grow and sustain the project.
Your support also plays a pivotal role in driving this work. Please consider making a donation today to help us continue creating sustainable change for El Salvador families now and for generations to come.
Through collaboration and dedication, we're nurturing a greener, more resilient future for El Salvador!
