Dear friends,
This past July, our team returned to El Salvador for our 13th consecutive year of planting!
We return year after year to support communities actively experiencing a changing climate. In the Dry Corridor in particular, where much of our work is concentrated, expanding tree cover with adapted varieties cools ambient temperatures and soils while providing sustainable sources of food, shade, income, and simply natural beauty.
During this year's trip, we worked alongside schools, farmers, and women's cooperatives to plant both communal orchards and single-family orchards. We also had the privilege of visiting trees planted in previous years that are now fully mature and producing the exact benefits we aimed for: fresh food, shelter, soil stabilization and regeneration, income, and a pathway to break free from less sustainable agricultural systems. This ongoing work is made possible thanks to our long-standing partners at CONAPAC and SHARE El Salvador, who first invited us here to undertake this mission.
Our work in El Salvador will continue indefinitely until we reach our milestone goal of planting 100,000 fruit trees across the country.
