We would like to thank you for the continous support towards our Hospital. We as Whisper's Magical Children’s Hospital and Maternity continue to make good use of the available resources we have, to satisfy our patients to our best possible potential. The past three months, we have treated a higher number of neonates and maternity mothers as compared to previous months and we are still facing challenges of transporting our patients who are in critical situation due to lack of an ambulance.

For the case of mothers in labor, many are referred to us when they are already in prolonged labor with lots of complications and always need an emergency ambulance to pick them up. Since we usually receive calls from health centers after when they have tried and failed, we end up using our personal cars which is not proper in that situation.

The same cases happen to both pregnant mothers and in pediatrics. So many babies are referred in and out to other facilities for further management and needs a proper way of transportation since most of them are usually on oxygen, we end up putting them in our normal cars and on small portable oxygen cylinders which are sometimes not sufficient for the babies basing on their Oxygen consumption and the distance. that is very unsuitable for critically sick patients, who are supported on oxygen, and sometimes very little can be done during resuscitation.

The fact that we are far away from the capital city where most of the government facilities are located, its very many kilometers away from our hospital to those facilities which really calls for an emergency ambulance.

In most cases we end up hiring from some facilities which is really costly and those costs are usually on our hospital bills because the parents can not afford both the treatment and transportation which we end up paying for both from our ends.

Being a charity hospital, most patients come in expecting free services and can barely pay even the consultation and admission fee of $25.

With an emergency ambulance in place, Mothers who had serious complication during birth delivery, will be able to get safely to the hospital and given all necessary medical treatment that starts right from the ambulance. Dying anaemic children will be able to get blood transfusion right from the ambulance.

We therefore continue to call upon your support towards this life saving project so that we can continue to save more babies and mothers in Eastern region and Uganda at large
