At Whisper Hospital in Jinja, Uganda, our ambulance is now in use every single day, helping patients access essential medical services and bringing free healthcare directly into our communities.
Our ambulance makes frequent journeys between Jinja and Kampala, transporting patients who require specialised medical attention. We also use it daily to take patients for CT scans, X-rays and other diagnostic examinations that are not yet available at our hospital.
Every weekend, our medical team travels with the ambulance to church services, where we provide free healthcare to community members.
Our outreach activities include:
Free blood pressure checks and basic health screenings.
First aid services.
Additional health checkups when available.
Health education talks about disease prevention, early diagnosis and healthy living.
Medical advice and guidance for people who may need further treatment.
These visits allow us to reach people who might otherwise postpone medical checkups or struggle to access healthcare.
With daily patient transfers, frequent journeys to Kampala and weekend community outreach, our ambulance has become an essential part of Whisper Hospital's operations.
However, keeping it running requires continuous funding for fuel, maintenance, medical supplies and servicing.
Your donations help us keep our ambulance on the road, support patients who need medical transport and bring free healthcare to communities every weekend.
We believe healthcare should not only wait for patients at the hospital. Sometimes, we must go out and bring care to them.
