Community health volunteers remain at the heart of our Ebola prevention efforts. Thanks to your continued support, these dedicated individuals are helping bridge the gap between health services and vulnerable communities across Uganda.
During this reporting period, volunteers participated in refresher trainings focused on Ebola symptom recognition, risk communication, infection prevention, and community surveillance. Equipped with updated knowledge, they conducted household visits, awareness meetings, and referrals for individuals requiring medical attention.
Their presence within communities allows them to identify concerns quickly and provide accurate information to families. Many residents have reported feeling more confident and informed because of the consistent support and guidance they receive from these volunteers.
The volunteers have also played a critical role in combating misinformation and encouraging preventive behaviors such as frequent handwashing, early reporting of symptoms, and adherence to public health recommendations.
By investing in local volunteers, we are strengthening community ownership of disease prevention efforts and building sustainable public health capacity. Their commitment demonstrates the power of community-led action in protecting lives.
Your generosity continues to support these frontline champions who work tirelessly to keep their communities safe. Thank you for helping us empower local leaders and strengthen Uganda’s Ebola preparedness efforts. Together, we are creating healthier communities equipped to respond effectively to public health challenges.
