Emergency Ebola Response in Uganda

Schools remain an essential part of community health and safety. Thanks to your support, we have continued working with educational institutions to strengthen Ebola preparedness and promote healthy learning environments for students and staff.

During this reporting period, teachers participated in health awareness sessions designed to improve their understanding of Ebola prevention and response procedures. Students also received age-appropriate education on hygiene practices and disease prevention.

Handwashing stations in participating schools were maintained and monitored to encourage regular use. School administrators worked closely with health volunteers to ensure that prevention measures remained visible and effective.

Teachers report that students are actively applying the lessons learned and sharing important health messages with their families. This ripple effect is helping spread awareness beyond the classroom and into surrounding communities.

The integration of health education into school activities is creating a culture of preparedness and responsibility among young people. These efforts contribute to safer learning environments while strengthening community resilience.
