Emergency Food & Nutrition for Karamoja Families

Karamoja in northeastern Uganda is facing a severe hunger crisis caused by prolonged drought, failed crops, and inadequate rainfall. At least 19 people have reportedly died from hunger, while approximately 1.5 million people are facing acute food shortages and rising malnutrition.
The crisis has severely affected vulnerable children and families who depend on farming and livestock for their survival. With crops failing and food reserves running low, many households are struggling to secure their next meal.
The Government of Uganda has begun emergency food distributions and plans to provide 9,400 tonnes of relief food over two months. However, the scale of the crisis remains enormous, and additional support is urgently needed to reach the most vulnerable communities.
