Rescue Families From Acute Hunger in Karamoja

For families living through food insecurity, every meal matters. Parents want to provide for their children, but when food becomes scarce and household resources are limited, even meeting basic needs can become a daily struggle.

Karamoja continues to experience a serious food-security crisis. The latest 2026 IPC assessment reports that approximately 473,000 people are facing Crisis or Emergency levels of acute food insecurity, representing about 32% of the analysed population.

Children face some of the greatest risks. Approximately 122,100 children aged 6–59 months are projected to experience acute malnutrition, including about 30,600 children with severe acute malnutrition.

Good Cause Foundation Uganda is appealing to the GlobalGiving community to help vulnerable families respond to this crisis.

Your donation can help provide essential food packages to households facing immediate hunger. A food package can provide relief to parents and help ensure that children have something to eat during difficult times.

However, we want to help families move beyond emergency assistance. We also seek support for seeds, agricultural knowledge, farming skills and appropriate resources that can help households strengthen their own food production.
