The situation in Ukraine is desperate. After millions of people abandoned their home, heading to West countries, many animals remained in war zone. Pets who lost owners; animals abandoned or injured saved in shelters from across Ukraine need food, supplies, medical care. ROLDA is just 8km from the border with Ukraine (Reni - Giurgiulesti) Your donations enable us to send vital assistance to shelters and rescuers from all over Ukraine and help some dogs be transported to ROLDA in Romania.
The situation in Ukraine continues to be critical and it will have a long term impact on people and their animals. Millions of people abandoned their home, heading to West countries and many took the pets with them. Ukrainians are crossing Romania by car, train or even by foot, walking in a march of desperation. Many left behind their old parents, their husbands who remain to fight, as well as house and are worried they will find nothing when and if they will ever return home.
ROLDA continues to support both animals and people who care about them. Helped by our international amazing supporters, we aim to: - Collect funds to be sent directly to shelters in need across Ukraine; - Evacuate dogs from shelters (in danger of closing because lack of resources, in danger of become captive in occupied territories) and transfer them to safety at ROLDA from where to be rehomed across Europe or US; - Send humanitarian aid to shelters and rescuers in Ukraine.
