Nepal Needs Help After the Floods

By Adaego Imoh | Project Leader

Flooding in Kathmandu, central Nepal

Dear Donors,

Thank you for caring about families affected by the devastating floods in Nepal.

On August 26, flash floods swept through Rasuwa, Nuwakot and downstream communities.

The destruction was severe.

Homes were damaged. Roads and bridges were affected. Power infrastructure was damaged. Families were forced from places they once considered home.

Now comes the difficult part: recovery.

Families need food to eat.

They need clean water.

They need somewhere safe to sleep.

They need healthcare when illness or injury follows a disaster.

Reports indicate that around 10,000 households need immediate relief.

Children may be frightened and displaced. Older people may struggle to move or find assistance. People living with disabilities may face additional difficulties. Parents who have lost their homes must now care for their families while trying to rebuild their own lives.

Our project is focused on helping 1,500 flood survivors receive emergency assistance.

Support will go toward food, temporary shelter and healthcare, with assistance delivered through local organisations familiar with the affected communities.

We know that one project cannot repair every damaged home or replace everything families have lost.

But one meal matters. One safe night matters. One medical visit matters.

Together, these small acts of care can help a family get through the hardest days after a disaster.

Thank you for standing with Nepal's flood survivors.

Please share this project and help us reach more people who may wish to support families affected by the floods.

With gratitude,

Adaego Imoh
