Over 1,000 families from 18 localities in northern Paraguay were benefited thanks to these donations. We supported 58 Women’s Committee, 9 Small producer’s Committee and 56 families of students’ that go to the Belen Agricultural School. Donations allowed us to purchase food kits that contained: rice, sugar, cocking oil, flour, salt, beans and yerba mate. Also, we were able to assist with 58 “Ollas populares” (when a large meal is prepared for the whole community) organized by the committees, by buying all main ingredients such as meat, rice, vegetables, bread, chicken, etc.. Moreover, to further empower the families to overcome these difficult times, we were able to provide 112 “orchard kits” with chard, lettuce, carrot, tomato, pepper and onion seeds. Belen Agricultural School's students provided technical assistance for the families for successful orchards.
Our relief fund has helped many families that have been deeply affected by the Covid19 pandemic as they have lost their main source of income. All families were extremely grateful for this help!
