We look at some startling figures revealing the impact of the floods on the communities we work with in the Somali Region of Ethiopia.
Across the Somali Region, most people depend on raising cattle for their livelihoods. The region has faced recurring natural and man-made disasters, such as flood, drought and conflict. These issues all negatively affect people's livelihoods, infrastructure, education and health.
The extent of the recent flooding has been unprecedented, causing untold damage and losses across this region. Statistics compiled during last month reveal the human impact of this disaster:
As thousands of families return home and begin to rebuild their lives, we continue working with these communities to keep people healthy, safe and nourished in the long term.
Please help to spread the word about this appeal, so even more people can contribute at this critical time. And please do give whatever you can to help families and communities today.
