Since the earthquake, groundwater has been cut off as a source of drinking water. As a result, drinking water and basic necessities are in short supply. Many supplies have been sent to the badly damaged Amizmiz, but the amount and type of supplies sent to the mountain villages are insufficient. People must be desperate because they have to walk a long way to get to the town. We went directly to the mountain village with supplies of drinking water, food, and relief supplies. The earthquake destroyed the well, making it difficult to even get drinking water. So the villagers were delighted to receive the drinking water.
We visited the Amizmiz shelter where tents have been set up. The homeless victims are staying in tents. There are up to 20 people in each tent, which is not suitable for a long-term evacuation. In addition, the stress of life and the sudden change of environment during the evacuation can easily lead to health problems. We provided medical care and listened to what they had to say. Listening to them carefully and carrying out simple medical checks can help to reduce their stress.
We will continue to bring supplies to the areas that are not well-reached. We will visit and bring your heart so that there is no alienated area. In addition, the shelters near the cliffs have only been given two lights, which is far from being enough. So we have a plan to install solar lights for them.
Thank you for your warm heart for the Moroccan people.
