10 months after the earthquake, still need help

[Emergency support for earthquake damage on Turkey]

Hello, I'm bringing you the first news of 2024. A-PAD Korea has returned from the thrid support project for earthquake damage in Turkiye.
About 10 months after the Turkiye earthquake, Turkiye has not changed much. The rubble that collapsed was still there, and the recovery speed was very slow. The building was not completely demolished, so we were restoring it with the top priority.

The victims in Turkiye were moving from tent-type shelters to container shelters. However, there were quite a few victims who were constantly living in tents because not all of them were assigned containers.
Temporary containers were also not equipped with good facilities, so most of the victims continued to live in shelters exposed to many problems such as poor insulation and leaking rain.

The Turkiye we visited this time since April 2023 has been quiet. As they were forgotten in everyone's memory, they had almost no supplies of support, and it was full of silence. Therefore, this application was all the more meaningful. They were happy, pleased, and happily welcomed just by the fact that we went.
Due to the lack of proper support, we made and distributed packages focusing on the groceries we needed the most. We made about 1,050 packages and made enough for a family of 4-5 to eat for about two months.

In addition, we provided underwear support for children, school supplies, and additional adult diapers for those with physical disabilities.
There were so many victims of Turkiye who remembered and welcomed us. I gave them a hug while showing them a picture we took together, and I brought a ping-pong ball with Korean names. I applied to them, but there were many moments when I was grateful for more love.

I would like to deeply thank the GlobalGiving, and the sponsors who always trust and support A-PAD Korea for providing appropriate support when it is really needed.
Thank you so much.

A-PADKorea will also be able to find and support gaps in disasters so that no one is left out of them in 2024.

Tesekkür ederim
