Pets of the Homeless Progress Report

It is my pleasure to write this report to our supporters. Since my last report at the end of August Pets of the Homeless has been quite busy. Here is an example of a few of the cases that your donations have helped.

Bic is only 10 weeks old, his homeless owner thought he may have Parvo. He was having tummy troubles and just not himself. Luckily the Parvo test came back negative. Bic was given fluids and medication for his upset stomach. Reno, NV

Buddy is about a year old a Pit Bull/Labrador mix. Buddy's homeless owner called Pets of the Homeless because he was itching until his skin was raw from flea bites. The veterinarian prescribed flea medication and was able to vaccinate the pup. Buddy and his owner live in a truck, in Montgomery, AL

Meaty was an 8 year old Jack Russell living in a motel room with his homeless owner. Meaty had swollen glands and was not feeling well. The vet hospital performed an exam, blood work, medication, aspiration and cytology. Meaty returned to the hospital a few days later with an abnormally swollen head. The owner agreed to have Meaty put down. (no photo)

Pets of the Homeless had a total of 23 cases for the month of August, our cost, $4,946.42.

Pocket is a wired hair terrier that lives with her owner in a car in Concord, CA. When her owner opened the car door Pocket failed to “stay” and the door caught her in the hip. She required surgery to pin her little fractured hip.

Koda had a huge gash on her front leg. She lives with her owner on the streets on Santa Rosa, CA. Surgery was needed.

Beo Wolf is a Dachshund mix and only 9 weeks. He was very sick and his homeless owner was very worried. Beo Wolf tested positive for early stages of Parvo and was treated. Fresno, CA.

 BeoWolf

During September POTH had 19 cases which totaled $4,783.34

I know there are many worthwhile charities you can pick to support and we are very grateful for your past donations and hope that you will continue to help these precious pets that belong to the homeless. Homeless folks are often isolated and their pets help in so many, many ways. Your funding is so appreciated.
