Uplifting Update from Piper's Mom

By Genevieve Frederick | Founder/President

Meet Piper, the brave 4-month-old Australian Shepherd who overcame a traumatic accident while living on the streets with her homeless and disabled human in Missoula, MT.

Piper’s playful spirit led her under a moving vehicle, resulting in a serious injury. But thanks to her owner’s quick action and the support of Feeding Pets of The Homeless, Piper received immediate medical attention. Despite needing a Femoral Head Ostectomy, Piper’s determination to heal shone through.

Feeding Pets of The Homeless stepped up with a generous $2,000 contribution towards Piper’s care, ensuring she received the treatment she needed to recover. Piper’s mom expressed her heartfelt gratitude, “I can’t thank you all enough for your gracious generosity. Piper is healing up nicely, she can’t yet walk on all four legs, but we are giving her some time to heal all the way.”

But the story doesn’t end there—amidst Piper’s recovery journey, there’s a heartwarming twist. Piper’s mom joyfully shared that they recently found a home, marking a new chapter of stability and security for both her and Piper.

We love hearing from our clients and especially when they share wonderful news of finding a home for themselves and their furry family members! It is not an easy journey to find housing and shelter facilities that allow pets. That is why we list shelters on our website that DO allow pets and provide crates to shelters that will allow them.

Thank you for helping Piper!

Your donation dollars help pets in many ways:

$1 - one meal for a pet
$5 - treats
$14 - one week of meals for a pet
$24 - a leash and collar set
$50 - basic exam for a pet
$100 - stitches and meds for an injured pet

Consider a one-time or monthly donation to ensure we can continue to help more pets like Piper when they need it most!

Thank you for your continued support!
