Your Support Helped Izzy and Her Dad on Their Journey to Stability

By Genevieve Frederick | Founder/President

Sweet Izzy
Sweet Izzy

Hi, I’m Izzy, a 7-year-old female Pitbull who stays with my dad at a shelter in Laguna Beach. My dad and I have been experiencing homelessness for over a year, but thanks to the support of social workers at our shelter and his Social Security checks, we’re hopeful that we’ll have a home soon.

I’m my dad’s best friend, and he takes such good care of me. So when I started pawing at my ears, he knew something was wrong. He went to different stores, trying to find medicine to help me, but nothing seemed to work. That’s when he reached out to Feeding Pets of the Homeless. He was so relieved when they quickly arranged for me to see a vet.

At the clinic, the vet discovered I had a painful ear infection. It was making me uncomfortable, but with antibiotics and regular cleanings, I started feeling much better. My dad has been making sure I get my medication every day, and now my ears are shiny, clean, and infection-free!

Feeding Pets of the Homeless covered $261 for my care, making this treatment possible. Without this help, my dad would have struggled to afford the vet visit. Your support not only eased my pain but also lifted a burden off my dad’s shoulders, allowing him to focus on his journey to stability.

Thanks to donors like you, pets like me don’t have to suffer in silence. Your kindness ensures that pets of people experiencing homelessness receive the urgent medical care they need. Every dollar makes a difference in keeping families like ours together and healthy.

A voicemail from my dad:
"I just want to let you know that I sent you a photo yesterday, just to maybe cheer you up… I want to thank you very much for your time and what you're doing for everybody—you know, with the dogs and everything. Bless you for that, and keep up the good work."

Thank you for being a part of Izzy’s journey to healing! Because of you, Izzy and her dad can continue moving forward with hope.
