Project Report | Nov 24, 2025
Giving Tuesday and Pepper

By Genevieve Frederick | Founder/President

News of political and economic turmoil should never diminish our compassion for those in our communities who are struggling. Every day, people experiencing homelessness make difficult choices, and for many, caring for a beloved pet means sacrificing their own well-being to keep their companion safe.

This GivingTuesday, your generosity can help provide life-saving veterinary care and nutritious food for the pets of people experiencing homelessness.

On December 2 starting at 12 a.m. EST, GlobalGiving will launch its annual GivingTuesday match, and your donation to our project can help us earn funds from a $500,000 matching pool.

We are proud to remain community-powered and mission-driven, never relying on government funding. Your kindness, whether as a donor, volunteer, Donation Site, social media supporter, or someone who simply shares our mission, continues to create meaningful change for pets and their guardians across the country.

Pepper’s Story: A Reminder of Why Your Early Support Matters

Hi, my name is Pepper, and I am a 9-year-old Chihuahua from Agoura Hills. My dad and I have been together my whole life. We are currently experiencing homelessness and spend half the month in our vehicle and the other half in a hotel through his county benefits.

My dad knew I might have a heart murmur and he watched over me closely. When I began passing out and becoming catatonic, he reached out to everyone he could for help. That is when he found Feeding Pets of the Homeless.

After a quick intake, I was sent to the vet the same day. Testing confirmed I have a lifelong heart murmur, but thanks to the diagnostics and care I received, I can now be treated with the medication I need to stay healthy.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $621 toward my care, and now I am feeling so much better.

Pepper’s story is just one example of what your GivingTuesday support can help make possible.

Mark Your Calendar

Your generosity on GivingTuesday can help unlock additional matching funds through GlobalGiving, allowing us to reach even more pets and families in crisis.

We hope you will join us on this global day of generosity and help us continue our work for those who need us most.

With heartfelt gratitude, we wish you and your loved ones a peaceful holiday season.

Save the date for December 2 and be part of something truly meaningful.
