Pets of the Homeless received a call from a homeless Veteran gentleman who lives on the streets of San Diego, CA with his 3-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Sammy. Sammy might have an ear infection, and he was vomiting blood. We approved an examination.
After an exam, it was determined that Sammy was very sick and needed to be hospitalized. Sammy had pneumonia. A concern was that Sammy may have blood in his lungs. Pets of the Homeless assisted with the maximum financial assistance available which included hospitalization, iv fluids, oxygen cage, antibiotics, bloodwork, x-rays, urinalysis, hospital daily nursing care and doctor visit, and ear medications.
Sammy is an example of just one of the hundreds of pets we have helped so far this year.
Your donation dollars can help dogs like Sammy when their owners do not have the resources to pay for veterinary care.
As always, we appreciate your support.
