Dear friends and supporters,

Your unwavering support has fueled dreams and made a tangible difference to the lives of children and young people in Kenya. We’re happy to share the successes of the past months and provide you with updates on the progress made at our Seed of Hope training centres.

Last year, we enrolled 1,067 students, achieving a milestone of supporting over a thousand young people per year, and we are delighted to announce that they have successfully completed their courses and are set to graduate this month. These students from marginalised communities, who were unable to afford to continue their education, benefited from free training, free lunches, counseling, life skills training, and free learning materials.

Out of the total number of students, 637 (60%) were girls, who received period packs. Among these were 162 young mothers who were also supported with monthly childcare  vouchers. As one young mother shared: “I am deeply grateful to Seed of Hope for providing me with the opportunity that has changed the trajectory of my life for the better”.

In December, 161 students registered for the NITA exams, marking another milestone as we became an official exam center across all Seed of Hope Centres.

After completing their courses, the students began their internships in December 2024 and in January 2025 their eagerly awaited graduation ceremonies are currently underway. At the Kariti graduation ceremony on 17th Jan, it was especially inspiring to see a number of girls like Yvonne excel in traditionally male-dominated fields of Electrical Wiring and Installation. We are so excited for their futures - equipped with skills, qualifications and confidence to gain employment and/or set up their own businesses!

The mentorship program for our graduates remains a vital component of our initiative, ensuring continuous guidance and support as they transition into the workforce, and a year beyond their courses, 84% of Seed of Hope graduates continue to regularly mentor at least one young person in their community. Enrollment for the 2025 academic year is progressing well, and we’re excited for an even brighter, bolder year ahead.

Thank you for believing in our mission and being an integral part of these achievements. Together, we are transforming lives, one empowered young person at a time, and building a brighter future for the next generation.

With love and gratitude,

Florence and the team
