At Globalteer, we believe sport is more than just play—it’s a powerful tool for learning, confidence-building, and community connection. In rural Siem Reap, Cambodia, our Sports for Social Impact Program is making waves, reaching over 2,000 children across Helping Hands School and several government primary schools.
We’re especially proud that 50% of our participants are girls, breaking down traditional gender barriers and ensuring all children have equal opportunities to benefit from sports and physical education. Our dedicated team of coaches delivers regular sessions that promote teamwork, leadership, resilience, and physical health.
Yet despite our efforts, many government schools simply don’t have safe or adequate areas for children to play. This lack of space limits the full potential of sports to transform lives—until now.
Big News: A Game-Changing Sports Field for the Whole Community
We’re thrilled to share a major development—we have purchased a 15,000 square meter piece of land, formerly a rice paddy field, which is now being transformed into a community sports field for children across the commune. This large, multi-use space will include:
Multiple dedicated sports areas
Changing rooms
Solar lighting for safety and evening use
Access to clean drinking water
A transport bus to bring children from surrounding villages
This field will serve as a central hub for play, learning, and community connection—particularly benefiting children from schools without space for physical activities.
Expected Impact and Outcomes
The sports field will not only enhance our existing program but also create lasting benefits for the entire community:
Increased Physical Activity: Children will have regular access to safe, open space for exercise and structured sports, improving health and well-being.
Improved Academic Performance: By combining physical education with classroom learning, students will develop focus, discipline, and teamwork—skills that transfer directly into academic success.
Stronger Community Engagement: The new field will host sports tournaments, cultural events, and community gatherings, strengthening local bonds and creating shared pride.
Enhanced Educational Opportunities: With more room for physical education, schools will see improved student attendance, engagement, and morale.
Empowerment & Sustainability: We are actively involving the community in the management and upkeep of the facility, ensuring a sense of local ownership and long-term success.
This project represents a bold step forward—not only for Globalteer but for thousands of Cambodian children who will grow up healthier, more confident, and more connected to their communities through the power of sport.
Thank you for being a part of this journey. Your support is helping children in Cambodia thrive on and off the field.
