Since 2021, the Women MicroCredit Programme (WMP) has been empowering rural women entrepreneurs by giving them access to interest-free small-scale loans and financial literacy and business management skills training. Implemented in cycles, our women beneficiaries pay back the interest-free loans they receive over a period of six (6) months. In September we started the fifth cycle of the program with 171 women receiving loans ranging from 50,000 to 200,000 ($35 to $140) and in October the women started making their loan repayments.
Since program inception in 2021, we’ve successfully empowered over 670 women across the program’s five (5) cycles and have recorded an average 98.5% loan repayment rate. Our beneficiaries have also reported business growth, increased savings, reduced debt, and increased ability to provide support for their families, emphasizing the importance of providing affordable finance to rural women entrepreneurs for inclusive economic development.
The Women MicroCredit Programme provides an opportunity for our beneficiaries and through your support we can help more women build sustainable livelihoods. Kindly keep supporting our work by donating and sharing why you choose to support us with your community of family and friends.
Thank you!
