Sisterhood Agenda is adhering to recommended COVID-19 safety guidelines. That means planned gatherings have been canceled and no gatherings are being scheduled, including youth activities. But we are still working and planning for our new future!
In lieu of SisterCamp and A Journey Toward Womanhood staff implementation, we are creating and distributing Fun Kits for Girls that are comprised of materials and entertaining activities for hours of self-directed engagement. Services may look a little different and we definitely travel less frequently. Yet, we are purpose-drive and strive to be as resourceful as ever. Our limits as individuals, agencies, and communities are all being tested.
After the hurricanes and during this pandemic, at Sisterhood Agenda, we have remained vigilant and determined to continue our mission-driven services to educate, support, and empower girls around the globe.
During civil and social unrest related to racial justice issues in the United States and throughout the world, we support activism that promotes positive social change for equality, love, and respect. The earth and the people who reside here are in need of healing. Our work and the work of so many of our global partners and other agencies are part of an international movement to create systemic change. We are creating a world where individual and historical trauma can be prevented and everyone can win.
The health and care of our community members are our first priority. While we wait to resume activities as safely as possible, the Sisterhood Agenda team has expanded by adding team members and we are also expanding our media projects, including digital outreach, in order to sustain and grow our global educational empowerment activities.
This can be a very exciting time for innovation and adaptation, even amidst the uncertainty that inevitably exists during times like these. While we navigate these new, uncharted waters, we would like to say "thank you."
Thank you for believing in us and our work, for donating to our cause and being there when we needed you the most. Please know that EVERY PENNY you give counts to increase our capacity and make us stronger and even more resilient. As they say, "Teamwork makes the dream work."
