More than ever, we realize that we need a special place to retreat, relax, unwind, and unplug. It is not simply helpful to do so; it is necessary to maintain our physical, emotional, and mental health for self-care and resilience. Girls need this, too, especially for trauma recovery and building resilience, a hallmark of the Global Educational Empowerment for 100,000 Girls project.
While we will host more youth activities in the Virgin Islands when it is COVID-safe, we know that not everyone can come to our SEA: Sisterhood Empowerment Academy on St. John. We agree that this is one of the most peaceful, restorative places in the world!
For a location closer for our U.S.-based global partners, we are expanding to our newest geographical area that is particularly conducive for our holistic health and healing agenda. Fortunately, we found a beautiful location in Baltimore County.
If you would like to help us raise funds for this important new development project, please let us know!
Many of our program participants may still not be able to come to this newest up-and-coming program location in the eastern United States. In-person experiences are often best, but we understand that it may be not feasible for a number of valid and important reasons.
That is okay because we are also doing our best to accommodate girls where they are by launching a series of online programs and courses that are accessible anywhere you can get an Internet connection. In fact, we have a few courses launched already.
We are pleased to announce the following new Sisterhood Agenda online offerings: A Journey Toward Womanhood, A Journey Toward Womanhood Training for Administrators, and How to Relax.
Anyone can join our online community by being a part of our global sisterhood, just like you. Thank you for reading our update and for your continued support! We hope to hear from you and/or see you at a sisterhood activity very soon. Stay safe and thank you for putting Sisterhood on your Agenda!
