Sisterhood Agenda is in the process of updating the curricula included in our Global Educational Empowerment for 100,000 Girls project. Specifically, the updated program will include trauma-informed exercises and lessons, plus updated sisterhood, empowerment, and holistic health information for teacher/mentor's and program participants.
The newly revised and updated A Journey Toward Womanhood Curriculum Guide and Student Workbook will be available by November 2016. Training is slated to begin in January 2017. Our goal is to train 25 agencies in 2017 and add a mimimum of 250 new global partners. Training will take place at the SEA: Sisterhood Empowerment Academy eco-headquarters in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands or onsite at the global partner agency location.
ACEs are Adverse Childhood Experiences. Girls experience them at a rate much higher than boys and girls who have ACES often have behavioral issues related to these traumatic experiences. Sisterhood Agenda strives to offer well-reseached programs that are both evidence-based and trauma-informed for our global partners around the world.
The A Journey Toward Womanhood curriculum is in high demand and will also incorporate some of the exercises that were previously included in Sisterhood Agenda's SHE: Sisters, Healthy & Empowered Activity Guide. One of the most important additions to the update is the inclusion of meditation as a way to reduce stress and promote effective creative visualization.
We are excited about our progressive educational project for global girls that gets better and better as we promote sisterhood, women's support and empowerment in 34 countries.
