By Juan Pablo Hurtado | Project Leader
Hi there,
I want to share a story that truly reflects the impact of your support through our project to empower and educate teenage mothers in Chile.
Meet Geraldine. For a long time, going to school felt overwhelming. She struggled with anxiety and emotional distress, making it difficult to stay in the classroom and continue her education. At one point, it seemed like she might not return at all.
But everything changed when she joined one of our re-entry schools. There, she found something she hadn’t experienced before: a space where she felt safe, respected, and understood. As she says, “here, you feel respected.”
That sense of belonging made all the difference. Little by little, Geraldine began to reconnect with learning, regain confidence, and imagine a future that once felt out of reach. What used to be a place of stress became a place of support, healing, and new opportunities.

Because of you, young women like Geraldine are not left behind.
You are helping them return to school, rebuild their confidence, and believe again in their future.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Hogar de Cristo / Fundación Súmate
