Report: Amplify Our Voice, Be A Voice
Theme: To Donors - Your Voice Keeps Children In Class at Gaba Hope for Kids

Tell donors: Your voice is part of the support. Materials fill bags. Repairs fill classrooms. But voice fills the gap between help and a child who is forgotten. Since 2021 we have supported over 860 children, and donors who amplify the story have kept more children in school than any single supply alone.

What Donors Need To Know
Children do not drop out because learning is hard. They drop out because barriers are heavy and silent. A leaking roof closes class when it rains. Missing materials send children home in week one. Shame during menstruation keeps girls away for days each month. Pressure at home ends education early.

These barriers are not rare. They are daily. And they stay hidden when no one speaks about them.

Why Your Voice Matters As A Donor
Your support does two things when you amplify it:

1. It Closes Immediate Barriers: When you speak about the need, more partners see it. More children get kits, repairs, and mentoring before they disappear from class.
2. It Changes How People See The Problem: Donors who tell the story shift the conversation from “charity” to “justice.” From “helping” to “keeping.” Children stop being a statistic and start being a responsibility.

A donor who shares one story brings in ten more people who care. Ten more people mean more classrooms stay open. More girls stay all term. More children from the street return to learning. Your voice multiplies your impact.

What Happens When Donors Be A Voice
When donors speak up, three things change:
1. Barriers Are Named Early: Roofs, pads, materials, mentoring. Named problems get fixed faster.
2. Support Lasts Longer: Voice keeps attention on children term after term, so progress does not stop when one donation ends.
3. Communities Step In: When donors amplify, local teachers, guardians, and partners join in. The work stops being “external” and starts being “ours.”

One partner told us: “I only understood the need when a donor told the story with honesty. Then I gave, and then I brought others.” That is the power of donor voice.

Next Steps For Donors Who Want To Amplify
1. Tell The Story With Specifics: Talk about the 20 immediate needs that keep children out. Talk about children who stayed because support was timely.
2. Bring Others To The Table: Invite friends, networks, workplaces, and faith groups to see what you see.
3. Stay Engaged Beyond One Gift: Keep asking questions, keep sharing updates, keep children visible until they finish.

Closing To Donors
You are not just funding a desk or a pad. You are funding presence. You are funding dignity. You are funding a future.

And when you amplify your voice, you fund more children than your own gift ever could. Be a voice. Speak for the child who cannot speak in donor rooms. Speak until every child is in class.

Every child deserves donors who speak for them.
