Title: Physical Education At Gaba Hope For Kids
Why Physical Education Matters Here
At Gaba Hope For Kids we see PE as more than games. For orphaned and needy children, physical activity builds confidence, body awareness, and a sense of belonging. When children move safely and with respect, they carry that confidence into class. PE also helps children learn teamwork and respect, which reduces teasing around periods and other differences.
*Problems We Solve Through PE*
Children avoid sports during menstruation due to stigma, lack of pads, and unsafe facilities
Limited play space and equipment keeps students inactive and disengaged
PE lessons often focus on certain students, so others sit out and lose fitness and leadership chances
Poor body awareness leaves children unprepared to manage pain, posture, and energy during periods
*How Our PE Program Works*
Inclusive Daily Movement: Short, low impact activities before or during class so all children can join, including those on their period
Period Friendly Design: Activities are planned around comfort, privacy, and pad access. No child is forced to sit out or explain why
Skill Building Through Play: We teach teamwork, leadership, and communication using local games and simple equipment
Whole School Approach: Teachers and children co-lead sessions so respect and participation become school culture
Connection To Dignity: We link PE to our Daily Pad Program so children see their bodies as strong, not shameful
*Impact Created By Donor Support*
Your support makes PE safe and welcoming for every child. With basic equipment, safe play areas, and teacher training, children participate with confidence. Children learn respect through shared games. Over time, PE becomes a space where dignity is practiced daily, not just talked about.
*Outcomes We Will Measure*
Student participation rates in PE, with focus on children attendance during menstruation
Teacher confidence in leading inclusive, period friendly activities
Student feedback on safety, respect, and enjoyment during play
Reduction in teasing or exclusion during games and sports
*Who Benefits*
