Empowering Futures, Transforming Lives
1. PROGRAM TITLE
Life Changing Program - Education, Nourishment and Skills for 500+ Vulnerable Children in Gaba
2. WHY THIS PROGRAM IS LIFE CHANGING
Many children in Gaba come to our center hungry, without books, without hope of joining school next term. A small support at the right time changes their whole life direction - from dropping out to staying in school, from hunger to learning, from hopelessness to dreaming again.
3. WHO WE SERVE
- 500+ needy and orphan children in Gaba, Kampala
- Child-headed families and single mothers
- Children at risk of dropping out due to poverty
4. THREE PILLARS THAT CHANGE LIVES
PILLAR 1: EDUCATION THAT OPENS FUTURES
- School fees support for most vulnerable
- Scholastic materials: books, pens, uniforms, bags
- After-school learning circles and mentorship
- Life skill: Education changes everything
PILLAR 2: FEEDING THAT KEEPS CHILDREN IN CLASS
- Daily porridge and hot meals
- No child can learn on empty stomach
- Life skill: A fed child stays, learns, and grows
PILLAR 3: SKILLS THAT SUSTAIN FAMILIES
- Vocational training for 20 mothers per cycle (tailoring, liquid soap, crafts)
- Community SACCO for savings and small loans
- Parenting and child protection training
- Life skill: When a mother earns, a child stays in school
5. WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
- Community-led: Parents volunteer daily, make bricks, cook, teach
- Low cost, high impact: We use local materials and labor
- We don't just give, we build together
- Every dollar goes directly to children
6. LIFE CHANGING STORIES WE AIM TO CREATE
- A girl who was to drop out in Primary 5 now completes Primary 7
- A boy who had no meal at home now eats daily and tops his class
- A mother who had no income now earns and pays for her child's needs
