GABA HOPE FOR KIDS
Empowering Vulnerable Children and Mothers

IMPACT REPORT
Theme: Crisis Faced by Whom We Support

1. INTRODUCTION
GABA HOPE FOR KIDS exists to ensure vulnerable children stay in school and to empower their mothers and guardians with sustainable livelihoods.

The families we support face daily crises that threaten their children's education and future. This report shares the reality of their challenges and how we walk with them through crisis.

2. WHO WE SUPPORT
We support vulnerable children, many of whom live with grandmothers, single mothers or guardians. We support girls at risk of dropping out due to lack of sanitary support, and mothers who struggle to provide food, school materials and basic needs.

3. CRISIS FACED BY WHOM WE SUPPORT

A. Education Crisis
- Children miss school due to lack of books, pens, uniform and school fees.
- Many children have dropped out or are at risk of dropping out because families cannot afford scholastic materials.
- Learning time is lost, leading to poor performance and loss of confidence.

B. Girls Dignity Crisis
- Girls miss school days every month due to lack of sanitary pads and menstrual health information.
- Shame, stigma and silence around periods make girls feel isolated and undignified.
- Without reusable pads and knowledge, girls stay home and fall behind in class.

C. Family Livelihood Crisis
- Mothers and grandmothers lack stable income and depend on small gardens that do not produce enough.
- Rising costs of food and farm inputs make it hard to provide daily meals and school needs.
- Lack of skills in income-generating activities keeps families trapped in poverty.

D. Emotional and Social Crisis
- Many children live without parental care and need guidance and counseling.
- Some families face domestic challenges that affect children's ability to learn and stay safe.

4. HOW WE ARE RESPONDING

- Providing scholastic materials to bring children back to school and keep them in class.
- Providing menstrual health education and reusable sanitary pads to keep girls learning without interruption.
- Training mothers in farming, liquid soap making and tailoring with start-up kits and mentorship.
- Conducting home and school visits for guidance, counseling and encouragement.

5. IMPACT STORY - MEET FAITH
Faith is a young girl in primary school who lives with her grandmother. She faced a crisis of missing school due to lack of books and pads, while her grandmother struggled to provide food from a small garden.

Through our supporters, Faith received books and reusable pads, and her grandmother received farming training and seeds. Faith is now back in school every day and the family has food.

Faith says: Thank you for helping me to go back to school. I want to become a teacher.

Faith shows how support can turn crisis into hope.

6. CHALLENGES
- The number of families in crisis is growing faster than our resources.
- Rising costs of school materials, pad materials and farm inputs.
- Need for more counseling, mentorship and safe learning spaces.

7. PLAN FOR NEXT
- Reach more children with urgent scholastic support to prevent dropout.
- Expand menstrual health education and pad distribution.
- Train more mothers in resilient livelihood skills.
- Strengthen follow up and community support networks.

8. APPRECIATION
We sincerely thank all our donors on GlobalGiving, friends, volunteers and local leaders who stand with families in crisis. Your support brings hope when families need it most.

9. CONCLUSION
The crisis faced by whom we support is real, but it is not permanent. With education, dignity and family resilience, crisis can turn into hope. With your continued support, more children will stay in school and more families will stand strong.
