The Home Industry Food Production Permit (PIRT) is one of the mandatory licenses required for home-based processed food products, including products produced by KOPI-managed micro and small enterprises. Due to various constraints, not all KOPI members were able to apply for the PIRT license at the same time.
After the first phase on 27 July, during which four KOPI groups applied for PIRT licenses, a second licensing activity was conducted on 23 August. On this date, KOPI Bringinan applied for a PIRT license for its butterfly pea flower tea product. In addition, one participant from outside the INFEST-assisted villages—originating from Ngumpul Village, Balong Subdistrict—also joined the PIRT registration process.
Licensing Process
The PIRT registration on 23 August was conducted at the Mall Pelayanan Publik PCC Ponorogo. Although the number of applicants was limited, the licensing process took longer than expected due to a slow system, resulting in the process being completed only by midday.
Following the issuance of the PIRT license, business actors are required to participate in food processing and safety training organized by the local Health Office. This training is an essential step to ensure that food products meet hygiene and safety standards.
Next Legal Requirements
With both the Business Identification Number (NIB) and PIRT license obtained, KOPI enterprises are required to complete one additional legal requirement, namely Halal Certification. To issue halal certification, the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) will conduct an on-site visit to the production facilities to verify compliance with halal standards.
