The regular KOPI Ngendut meeting was held on 13 August, earlier than the usual schedule, due to multiple village activities at the end of the month. This meeting was special as it included a bouquet-making training session, in line with KOPI Ngendut’s work plan that had been scheduled the previous year.
Bouquet-Making Training
The bouquet-making training was conducted to create new livelihood opportunities for KOPI members. Currently, the bouquet business shows strong market potential, driven by popular trends in the community.
Students from Universitas PGRI Madiun facilitated the training. KOPI Ngendut members—particularly women—participated enthusiastically, hoping to gain practical, marketable skills.
One participant, Zakia, expressed her gratitude for being able to join the training. She shared that she has a strong interest in creating decorative crafts using paper and ribbons, making the training especially meaningful for her.
Training Outcomes
After a full day of training, KOPI Ngendut members produced bouquets in various designs and styles. Bouquet products are currently in high demand for occasions such as birthdays, graduations, weddings, and other celebrations. It presents a promising business opportunity that KOPI Ngendut members can explore further in the future.
Support from Village Leadership
The Head of Ngendut Village, Wadiyem, expressed full support for all KOPI activities that provide tangible benefits to village residents, including the bouquet-making training. The training concluded at 2:00 PM with satisfying results.
Next Agenda
The next routine meeting will focus on socialization and knowledge sharing from the Social Innovation Workshop held in Yogyakarta, to transfer new ideas and practices to KOPI members.
