Thirteen years ago, Futebol dá Força (FDF) was born from one powerful idea: Healthy girls shape their own future. Since then, what began in Mozambique has grown into a global movement, reaching over 135,000 girls across 33 countries—transforming not only games, but lives and entire communities.
This Past Season in Mozambique
Thanks to your support, the past season was one of powerful impact:
• 34,530 girls empowered through football
• Across 1,151 teams
• Led by 2,274 trained volunteer coaches
• In 70 districts nationwide
Behind every number lies a story—and this year, we’re telling it through powerful images and a video of the 10th edition of the Mutola Cup, our national girls’ league now underway across Mozambique. See it come to life here: https://shorturl.at/2OgP5
A Decade of Change: Scenes from the Field
We celebrate ten seasons of tireless work and unstoppable spirit. From dusty pitches to organized tournaments, FDF coaches don’t just train girls to play football—they equip them to navigate life with confidence.
We hear from girls who now know their rights and understand the importance of staying in school. We witness playful chants and laughter turn into conversations about sexuality, early marriage, and drug prevention. And we meet parents who, once hesitant, now stand proud as their daughters dribble toward a brighter future.
Changing Minds, Opening Futures
Through workshops, dialogues, and community-building sessions, girls are learning that football isn’t just for boys—and that their lives hold unlimited potential.
“At first, I didn’t allow my daughter to play. I thought football was only for boys. But over time, I changed my mind. I see how football educates and helps young girls avoid early unions and drugs.”
— Augusta, mother of an FDF player in Inhambane
These community shifts are the heart of our work. And they are only possible thanks to you.
Your Support Makes This Possible
This has been a year of challenges—economic and political. But your continued support means that nearly 35,000 girls in Mozambique now have access to:
• Safe spaces
• Empowering role models
• Lifelong skills through sport and mentorship
We are profoundly grateful. With your support, we’re not stopping here—our new goal is to reach 40,000 girls and keep building a future where every girl can thrive.
Thank you.
