We are excited to tell you that BARKA Foundation has joined forces with The Cup Effect, an incredible UK non-profit which is on the cutting edge of distributing menstrual cups to rural populations in Africa. Together we have developed a new project to introduce menstrual cups to women in Burkina Faso for the first time in the country's history, along with necessary infrastructure for schools to address girls' mentrual needs, theatre sensitization for entire communities and the formation of peer support groups for both girls and women.
Why are we so excited and in favor of menstrual cups to address Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM)?

Just this week we submitted our first grant application for this new project- the result of 6 weeks of intense work among our team on the ground, partners in Burkina (including Burkina's Ministries of Health, Education, Water and Women), BARKA's Board of Directors and The Cup Effect.
However we're a long way from securing the funds to implement it! Therefore, we ask you for your continued generous financial support to help BARKA Foundation secure the basic right of menstrual health for girls and women of Burkina Faso.
